Getting Files onto Your reMarkable

Once you have a PDF notebook, an ebook, or a document to read, the next question is always the same: how do I actually get it onto the tablet? Here are the official routes, where they get in the way, and a faster one.

The official ways

reMarkable gives you a few built-in options, and for the occasional file they are fine:

• The reMarkable desktop and mobile apps. Install reMarkable's own app on your computer or phone and add files through it. This is the standard route and works, but it means opening a separate app every time and living inside its file handling.
• my.remarkable.com in a browser. Upload files from the web on a computer. Handy in a pinch, less so as a daily habit.
• Email and other cloud features. Some conveniences, like sending a document in by email, depend on a paid reMarkable Connect subscription.
• USB transfer. Plug in over a cable for direct transfer. Reliable, but tethered and fiddly for anything routine.

Where they get in the way

None of these is bad for a one-off. The friction shows up when moving files is part of your routine:

• You cannot simply "share to reMarkable" from any app the way you share to other services - you route back through reMarkable's own app.
• Sending a web page or article means saving it as a file first, then uploading that file.
• There is no watching a folder so that anything you drop in just goes across on its own.
• Sending a batch, or a whole folder with its structure intact, is clumsy.

A faster route: the Klass-RM Uploader

• Big files, handled. Optional large-file optimization shrinks oversized PDFs so they sync faster and take less space, at no charge.
• Shortcuts and Siri. Built-in Shortcuts actions let you automate uploads or trigger them by voice.

What Pro adds

• Destination folders. Send an upload straight into a specific folder on your reMarkable, and create folders as you go, instead of everything landing at the top level.
• Watched folders (Mac). Point the app at a folder on your Mac and anything you drop in uploads automatically while the app is open.
• Calendar-synced planners. Generate a planner from your calendar and keep it updated in place on the tablet, with your handwriting preserved.
• Obsidian note sync. Turn a folder of Markdown notes into a single document that stays updated on the reMarkable.
• Comic conversion. Turn CBZ and CBR comic archives into reMarkable-readable PDFs.
